From 25 generations, over 600 years, the Mazzei family dedicate itself to the production of refined wines at Castello di Fonterutoli.

It is one of the most important realities of Chianti Classico, famous at global level, has received important recognition.

The estate is designed to give value to local wine variety, to apply an eco-friendly agriculture, with a particular attention to hydrogeological balance for the purpose of respecting and preserving the territory.

It features 650 hecatares, 117 hectares are interested by vineyards, developped in 5 productive areas located between 220 and 550 metres above sea level, which are further divided into 120 single parcels.

The wine cellar of Castello di Fonterutoli is modern, with low environmental impact, made up of 3 levels of depth. In the plaza grapes are gathered and drop in the second level where there are wine vats.

At the third level, at 15 m, the large cellar hosts 3000 oak barrels. The 5 natural water streams flowing through the naked rock wallsguarantee the right humidity.
