The Hotel La Locanda del Ponte was the meeting point for the farmers of the place and a stop over for merchants and bandits from the Maremma, from 1530 to 1900, when after a fire was destroyed and abandoned.

Vulgarly called the "Osteria Bruciata" (The Burnt Tavern), in the 60's thanks to its charming atmosphere, La Locanda del Ponte was used as a filming set for the famous film "La ragazza di Bube" with Claudia Cardinale

In 1990 it was restored using its original name: La Locanda del Ponte.

By car

From the North: Take the motorway A1 up to the exit Firenze Certosa. After the tollbooth take the Florence-Siena clearway. After passing the exits for Siena, continue towards Grosseto on the main road SS223 for about 19 km, until you reach an AGIP station (Ponte a Macereto area).

From the South: Take motorway the A1 up to the exit Val di Chiana. Take the link road Bettolle-Siena (SS 326) and follow the signs for Grosseto until you get onto the main road SS223. Continue for about 19 km until you reach an AGIP station (Ponte a Macereto area).
